Most of the time when customers come back year after year, you know they are satisfied. However, you never really know how they feel about their entire experience until they tell you directly! At PAC Strapping, we never take our customers for granted. Just because someone spends money with us doesn’t mean we’ve done our job. For us customer satisfaction is our #1 goal. We not only want clients to stay for years, but we want them to enjoy the experience so much that they tell their friends and customers. With that in mind, here are just a few things that some of our favorite clients are saying about PAC Strapping:

“You are awesome! This will make him (their sales rep.) HAPPY! YAY!
- Jamie Jones, Packaging Fulfillment Co. Inc.

“You are so fast! (:”
- Chad Johnson, Swift Supply Company, Inc.

“Wow…what a quick response…you ARE good! I am increasing the order to a total of 20 cases.”
- Hughes Enterprises

“You freaking ROCK, Audrey. They are going to be thrilled! They were using a piece of wood to get tension until these came in. You saved the day. THANK YOU so much for your help and quick response. Have a great weekend!!!”
- Lauren Coker, Sun Industrial Supply

We’ve talked about the benefits of polyester strapping over steel. However, one of the advantages that you might not know about is polyester’s ability to go to the bottom of the ocean! Recently Academy Award winning director and deep-sea explorer James Cameron set a record few thought would be broken, let alone by the guy who brought you Titanic and Avatar.

Utilizing a vertically-configured, 24-foot tall, 11.8-ton deep-ocean, one-person sub, Cameron set the record for the deepest solo dive with a depth of 26,791 feet – that’s over 5 miles deep, or over 18 Empire State Buildings. His unusual ship, aptly named the Deepsea Challenger, is packed with all sorts of amazing and state-of-the art electronics and life support gear. Most of the gear is in the pilot’s sphere, which is attached to the bottom end of the Deepsea Challenger by – you guessed it – flexible polyester straps. While we didn’t make the straps that Mr. Cameron uses as his literal lifelines, everyone at PAC Strapping is thrilled to know that the same technology we sell is setting records and breaking new ground.

If you want to learn more about the amazing Deepsea Challenger, National Geographic has an exhaustively detailed website all about it.

Over the past few years, we have noticed that companies are aggressively moving from steel to polyester strapping. There are some very clear reasons why this move is becoming more popular. To begin with, as we’ve mentioned before, polyester is safer than steel due to steel’s sharp edges and polyester’s ability to settle with loads as they settle. It also doesn’t help that steel prices fluctuate quite a bit throughout the year (they’re up of late).

However, before anyone can make an informed decision, they need to get to know the pros and cons of both steel and polyester strapping.

Steel
Steel strapping, as its name implies, is made using thick steel-reinforced bands. Steel straps are sold in rolls and they are commonly found in grades of regular duty and high tensile. While steel straps are highly durable, they can rust and like we mentioned they have some safety issues due to their steel edges. As you might expect from anything made of steel, they can be quite heavy and are less cost-effective than polyester.

Polyester
Polyester is the material of choice for much of today’s strapping for a number of reasons. Because of its flexibility and strength, it can handle heavy loads and absorb a high amount of energy without breaking or elongating under tension. Because this strapping is manufactured from polyester resin, its edges are not sharp and will not damage equipment or injure people. Perhaps the only downside to polyester strapping is that it inherently cannot be as strong as steel, but it is certainly strong enough to withstand almost any challenge put to it. In addition, it’s lighter and a great deal more cost effective. If you want some tangible proof of how much less expensive polyester can be, please visit our website’s solutions center and try out our Savings Tool. This one-of-a-kind spreadsheet-based tool allows you to see how much you will actually save if you switch from steel to polyester.

In an effort to give our customers and readers all the information on the benefits of polyester over steel strapping, we will be posting a series of blogs over the next few months that will compare steel versus polyester. Of course, whether you choose steel or polyester, the most important thing you can do is to buy your strapping from a trusted supplier like PAC. Because it doesn’t matter what your strapping is made of, if it isn’t made right.

The difficulties around feeding soldiers in the field have baffled military leaders since the beginning of organized warfare. With the ever changing and unpredictable nature of combat, getting nutritious and edible meals to front-line troops has never been easy. In recent years, the U.S. Army’s Natick Soldier Research, Development & Engineering Center (NSRDEC) has been on the cutting edge of MREs (Meals, Ready to Eat) and other combat rations. The experts at Natick aren’t just concerned with making a food ration that the troops will actually want to eat but also one that will survive the trip to the front lines and beyond. If keeping your troops fed and ready for battle means you need to drop cargo out of a plane, then you are going to want to make sure that your strapping is right for the job.

Before the advent of plastics, steel was the strapping material of choice. However, as technology has caught up with the Army’s most complex shipping needs, it has become clear that future of strapping is in plastics. While PAC does not supply the actual strapping for the Army’s new project, we do make a host of polyester strapping products that would be perfect for this and a wide variety of other applications.

It’s fair to say that you most likely won’t face the kind of challenges or demands of the Army. Nevertheless, you still need to find a way to provide consistent, high quality strapping to handle all your toughest shipping and delivery needs. The experts at PAC have the perfect solution for you: our High Performance Polyester Advantage.
Unlike many other strapping products, PAC polyester combines the strength of steel strapping with the safety and cost-savings of plastic. PAC polyester is split resistant, retains a higher level of tension then nylon and polypropylene, and is safer than steel. On top of all these benefits, it just so happens that our PAC High Performance Polyester can also yield saving of 25-50% over steel.

If you need your loads to stay tightly strapped through all the stresses of transit, contact PAC today an let us tell you all about the High Performance Polyester Advantage. You might not need to air-drop your goods behind enemy lines, but that doesn’t mean you don’t deserve the best strapping available.

Exton, PA – PAC Strapping Products, Inc is doubling its polyester strap capacity effective immediately.

New capacity at the South Carolina facility of PAC Strapping Products, Inc. is being added effective immediately. This new capacity which has been planned for the last two years will expand the facility and allow PAC strapping Products and its distributors to take advantage of the growing market opportunities by converting customers from steel strapping to PAC High Strength Polyester. In addition to cost savings in the 40% range for most customers, polyester strapping is more environmentally responsible, and much safer than steel strapping. The new production capacity will also allow PAC to make a new range of stronger polyester sizes and further increase the steel to polyester conversion market.
